Dale Fox - CEO

A startup entrepreneur and innovator who has launched, grown, managed, and sold several companies based on new breakthrough technologies. He founded the first company exclusively focused on mobile devices and his background includes all aspects of marketing and finance for startups.


Carlos Camara, PhD - Chief Scientist

A high energy density physicist and one of the inventors of the company's disruptive technology. Building on his work at the UCLA Physics department, Carlos is leading the company's technology development and evolution.


Mark Valentine - Chief Operating Officer

A seasoned product engineer with 7 years experience in the X-ray industry as President and COO of a leading imaging firm. He has deep experience in bringing a technology from R&D and into the marketplace.


Jon Fong - Director of Engineering

Jon has an extensive background managing the New Product Development process with an emphasis on emerging growth technologies.  He has been a technical contributor as well as Technical Manager/Program Manager. He has developed and introduced electro-mechanical-software based products at Hewlett-Packard, 3D Systems, St. Jude Medical and Beckman Scientific Instruments.


Andrea Belz, PhD, MBA - Strategy Advisor

Consults to world-class technology organizations, including NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Caltech, and UCLA, as well as many university spinoffs in Southern California. She has a PhD from Caltech and an MBA from Pepperdine.

Craig Glynn - Director of Finance

A financial expert with 30 years experience managing the financial aspects of dynamic organizations, Craig has a track record of success with both start-ups and established businesses. He has held numerous CFO positions and consultant roles with companies in a variety of fields including technology, e-commerce, online media and advertising, and manufacturing and distribution.

John Crandon - Outside House Counsel

A corporate, private equity, and transactions attorney specializing in life sciences and high-tech companies. Formerly with Gibson Dunn, John holds a JD and BS in Biochemistry from Stanford University, MSc in Molecular Biology from Oxford University and a Research Fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Peter West - Director of Marketing

A marketing veteran with more than 30 years experience leading and executing strategic change at private and public companies in the US and Europe. Formerly VP and GM at AMR Research, Peter has consulted and help executive positions with numerous technology, enterprise software, venture and private equity firms.

Eric Wong - Senior R&D Engineer

A physical chemist with 20 years of experience in materials chemistry and nanotechnology. Eric has lead R&D efforts at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and at startup companies, integrating nanoscale materials into hybrid devices and composites.  He has a PhD in Chemical Physics and an MA in Chemistry from Harvard University.

Dan Cuadra - Senior Mechanical Engineer

A design engineer specializing in rapid prototyping for R&D and product development with a diverse range of skills from technical illustration to precision manufacturing. He has extensive experience in the development of mechanical systems from concept through design and fabrication.

Scott Nolan

A principal at Founders Fund, Scott has broad experience in engineering, science and management. He helped develop the propulsion systems and elements of the Dragon spacecraft at Space X, and worked with private equity clients at Bain & Company. Scott graduated with honors from Cornell University, receiving both a BS in Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering in less than 4 years.

Rob Volkel - Co-Founder

Co-founder of Tribogenics, Rob is a technology entrepreneur and product designer with over 12 years of experience developing solutions for the electronics manufacturing industry. He received his BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Thomas W. Turney

Currently serving as Managing Principal of NewCap Partners, a private investment banking firm focusing on the corporate finance needs of middle-market companies. Mr. Turney received his BA in Economics from UCLA and holds an MA in Economics and an MBA from the University of Southern California.


Robert Berman 
An expert in intellectual property and the architect of the licensing business for Acacia. During his tenure, Acacia entered into over 500 license agreements and increased its market cap from $20 million to over $400 million.

Michael Chabinyc 
Professor of Materials Science at University of California Santa Barbara. His research focuses on printed electronics and polymer films. He received his PhD in chemistry from Stanford University.

Peter Diamandis 
An international leader in the commercial space arena, Dr. Diamandis is Chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation and co-founder & Chairman of Singularity University. Dr. Diamandis received degrees from MIT in molecular genetics and aerospace engineering and holds an MD from Harvard Medical School.

Warren Grundfest 
Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Surgery at UCLA. He also serves as a Senior Technology Advisor to TATRC (Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center of the Army) and regularly consults for the NIH and FDA Office of Device Evaluation.

William King 
Distinguished as a Bliss Professor of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois-Urbana (UIUC), Dr. King holds 20 patents and is an ASME Fellow. He received an MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.

Daniel Kraft 
A Physician/Scientist at Stanford Medical School, Chair of the Medicine Track at Ray Kurzweil’s Singularity University, Chair of the FutureMed program at NASA/Ames, TED Fellow, Flight Surgeon with the California Air National Guard and a NASA Astronaut Finalist.

Seth Putterman 
A Professor of Physics at UCLA and led the effort that resulted in the discovery of X-ray emission from triboelectrification. He received a BS from Caltech and a PhD from the Rockefeller University.
